Another New Artist

Hold On - Single

So… I know another  person who knows a person…Anyway, I want to support another artist and share their music.  The song is Christian pop.  There is no video of Hold On, so I will share another video featuring her.  I prefer her iTunes song and the preview is not my favorite part of the song…but, well, here you go.

Katie’s Kitchen’s Almost Pesto Chicken

Looking for a new spin on my baked chicken, I took inspiration from the food channel and made an almost pesto crusted chicken.

Almost Pesto Chicken

To make:

Combine in blender 2 large kale leaves, 3 cloves of garlic, a generous squeeze of lime, and just enough water to help the blender break it down (~1/4 cup).

Salt and pepper the chicken before topping with the almost pesto.

Bake at your preferred temperature and time for chicken.

It does taste better than the afterthought of a photo makes it look.  Enjoy!

Puppy Bowl IX

I caught this show on the Animal Planet several years ago and look forward to it every Super Bowl Sunday.  It started as a low budget and funny way to fill time during the Super Bowl, but has turned into quite a production.  Kittens perform at half time.

Touched by an Angel

Touched by an Angel

There used to be fabulous shows about angles. The basic premise was that there are case worker angles that receive assignments and then must find a way to help a person with a particular struggle.

There was a 4 week period of time that I think my life was an episode. I, of course, did not realize it until the situation was over.

Before You Shop…Blogger Sunday

Somewhere between small business Saturday and cyber Monday should fall a day for blogger businesses.  There are wonderful photographers, writers, artists, health purveyors, and many others that are in the blogging world.

So I propose: Bloggers’ Sunday

On Sunday, relax in your favorite computer chair (or couch) and cruise around blogs with credit card in hand.  There are ebooks, print on demand books, free ebooks, photos, artist prints, essential oils, vacation retreats, and I am sure that I have missed many things.  There are items that fit all tastes and preferences.  These gifts are unique.  They are not from a box store stampede.

You also get to know the person you are purchasing an item from.  They have a blog, well, duh.  But look around their blog.  Do you enjoy their witty sense of humor and view of the world?  Do they take you to amazing places?  Do they give you insightful and inspiring information?  How often do you have the opportunity to learn information about the person you are buying from? How often can you post a comment or ask a question directly to the creator?

Blog Love

Are you getting a gift from a blog?

Do you have a blog, book or product to promote?

They Fought, You Vote

Why having the right to vote should not be taken for granted.

1787:  Passage of the U.S. Constitution gives white male property owners over 21 the right to vote

1870:  The 15th Amendment guarantees the voting rights of all men over 21 regardless of race or ethnic background

1920:  The 19th Amendment gave women over 21 the right to vote. Continue reading

How to Identify Venomous Snakes

Exploring the great outdoors is a wonderful way to relax and workout.  With extensive research and years of experience, I have learned how to differentiate between a deadly bear and a bear statue.  I have also learned the difference between gators and gator tail stew. Snakes are a bit more challenging.  Top photo credit:  reptilechannel.com

This young man has some good info on the topic with a unique delivery style.
